"Writing in the National Review Online, Kathleen Parker wrote, that her "cringe reflex is exhausted" after watching the Alaska governor stumble through TV interviews and it's become clear to her that Palin is out of her league."
"No one hates saying that more than I do," Parker writes. "Like so many women, I've been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I've also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does."
"Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves," Parker writes. "She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first."
"Kathryn Jean Lopez, writing for the conservative National Review, says Parker's suggestion is "not a crazy suggestion" and that "something's gotta change."

But hey, if McCain wins and Palin is in office as our VP - there is a silver lining - we actually have something to look forward to because the next four years are going to be a comic's dream. At least, us Americans and the rest of the World will have plenty of material to keep us laughing (and cringing).

Could there be a more ridiculous choice??? I cannot wait for her debate Thurs. with Biden...and then the very next day she will be in Dallas -- across from my office bldg. attending a $1,000/plate luncheon Repulbican fundraiser -- and there is a protest organized. We expect a good 500 people there...cannot wait to give her a warm Texas welcome.

The elitist wing of the conservative movement have always been wary of us libertarians coming into the GOP. Sarah Palin is one of the top elected libertarian Republicans in the country, (along with Idaho's Gov. Butch Otter, and Cong. Jeff Flake of AZ).
Of course, she's going to make some conservatives nervous.
They are wary of her libertarian cultural views. This is the woman who famously fought back against social conservatives in Wasilla who wanted to run all of the bars and taverns out of town.
But what she loses from the social conservatives, she gains 10 times over in libertarian votes.
Figure, Libertarian Bob Barr was polling 6% nationwide in mid-summer, and post-Palin he's now down to 1%.
With Sarah Palin, the libertarian wing of the GOP has finally arrived. Of course, that's going to make some other Republicans nervous.
Trilcat - I am going to disagree with you on that. Iraq was a terrible move for the US to make - the true motivation is loud and clear. The billions of dollars and lost of lives should have been directed to getting Bin Laden and Al Queida, not finishing up Daddy's lost battle and acquiring oil fields.
But forget about this - this again isn't about Obama or even McCain, its about his VP choice. Actually it is about McCain, because it definitely calls into question his sanity and love for the American people. He's a sellout.
And not to sound rude or mean, but you don't have to live with the consequences of having McCain/Palin in office. As an American citizen living in America - I do.
Don't be fooled into believing that McCain and the Republicans are better for Israel and Obama and the Democrats aren't. That's simply not true.

And I'm an American citizen with deep ties to BOTH of my countries. I have a son who lives in the USA, among other issues.
Trilcat - I am going to bite my tongue because there is a lot of what I could say right now but it would be offensive.
But my point with this, my point with my earlier post too, is that vote for McCain if you will. Hate Obama, but be honest and stop supporting and defending McCain's choice for VP. Can you honestly say she is a role model for our youth. It's bad enough that Bush spoke at a graduation ceremony and told the kids it's ok to get a C average in school, because, gee, look at me, I'm the president of the US and that was my grade average. WTF is that about. It's the same thing here. The only thing the Pakastini president could praise her on is her looks. The woman is seriously not in her league. I would call into question how she ever managed to become a Governor, however considering the number of the voting population, considering how many of that population actually voted,and it's equaled to what a local politician of my county is overseeing, I could possibly see how that could happen, especially if popularity, intimidation and corruption is partly responsible for it.
All I want is for folks to stop selling her and actually be truthful and honest in their opinions, with ideologies and partisianship aside. My point about the religious right not speaking up against the Jews for Jesus and other evangelical practices that she believes in, is a great example of ignoring and making excuses for someone that otherwise should be protested by that community.
